BERNARD N ODI-artist
Mr. Odi is a painter, ceramist, and professor of art. He received first prize for his painting in 1988 Grand Prix Total. In 1999, he received the grand prize from the Foundation of Sifca Comafrique for promoting the arts and painting.
In 1994, Mr. Odi participated in an international group exhibit in Abidjan, Cote d’ Ivoire with artists from Europe, Asia, and Africa.
He was the featured artist for 18 months at the University of Quebec at Montreal, Canada, and another month in the Canadian Capital. In 1997, Mr. Odi relocated in the United States and participated in many exhibitions since.
In 2001, he was a featured artist at the Convention Center in Washington DC during the Art Expo of the Greater Washington Urban League, where one of his pieces was chosen as a cover for the brochure.
Mr. Odi’s works have been on exhibit in Paris where many are held in numerous private collections. His latest local exhibits were in Washington DC with the Art Connoisseurs in 2006, and at the Mattawoman Creek Art Center in La Plata, Md.
Mr. Odi holds a degree in Fine Art from the National School of Fine Arts in Abidjan, Cote d Ivoire. His passion and nature are the source of inspiration for his renderings. His favorite dominant colors are orange, Yellow and greens; the colors of Mother Nature.
Currently, Mr. Odi is proudly teaching art to children in Washington DC, and works in his art studio located in Silver Spring Maryland.
